Watch// inspiring foodie TED talks

My New Roots
Sarah says "With every bite of food we take we are voting for the way we will look, for the way we will think, and of course the way we will feel. Our food becomes us. Literally, the green salad or the plate of french fries. What will you be voting for at your next meal?"

Cynthia says "the good intention and attention that you give that food, it comes back to you, and everyone at that table when you sit down and eat. It's simple, it's something you can do every day. Just be present while you butter a piece of toast."

take aways:
+cook with love
+watch your thoughts as you cook
+be present, be here now
+stop using your body as a trash can with foods you don't want and don't need

Watch: Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead

I watched Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead on Monday and it's been on my mind since (as good documentaries tend to do).

Could you go on a juice fast for 60 days? I don't know if I could even do 10!

Watch the trailer here.

And I really want a fancy juicer. Growing up my mom had the Juice Man and we'd have fresh carrot-apple juice at breakfast.

Do you have a juicer? What kind?

Watch: Forks over Knives + Lucy Chadwick

Forks Over Knives.
I watched it while I was on a break from school and immediately emailed my family telling them to watch it. It focuses on a plant-based diet and talks with a variety of people about how their health was changed for the better once following this lifestyle; off prescription medicine, weight-loss, and more energy! Really interesting film.

Also watch Lucy Chadwick of Zara by Todd Selby.

She lives a seemingly simple and beautiful life. I love that she escapes to the countryside to a simple cabin with an apple orchard and a table and a few chairs and has peace, fresh air, and the sun. That's joy. I'd like to live more beautifully.

Watch: Eat

Via my friend Kylie (her and her husband's blog is amazing, check out their photos and travels)

Yesterday I watched all three of his videos; Eat, Learn, and Move. I felt really excited about life and traveling. I'm posting the Eat one and I love so much how he is experiencing food. I feel strongly that food and eating needs to be enjoyed and thoughtful. When you look at your food, take a bite, and taste it, what a better experience you have then putting things in your mouth and not even realizing it. Today, look at your food, take note of the taste and texture they have, then swallow, and feel satisfied. Now you can walk away from your meal and you will have a better day.

Watch: Farmageddon

In the past few years I've become increasingly more passionate and excited about healthy living. I love learning about how to best feed and exercise my body. Beautiful food that is full of realness and nutrition thrills me. I recently came across a film that I'd love to see. Farmageddon. Ever heard of it? I wish there was a showing in Salt Lake City. It's important to think about where your food comes from.
This is a clip from a farmer named Joel. He rules.

I also love the What You Can Do tab on the Farmageddon site. Is there a showing in your city? I'm jealous and tell me about it.
